About me

I am a developer and PR person, lecturer, inspirer, and guide. I work with national and international projects, networks, and collaboration. I work as a policy entrepreneur and assignment consultant, for the future!

I have always been interested in natural and cultural heritage, history, and social development.

My great interest in social issues led me to study social sciences at Åbo Academy. I also got involved in municipal politics at the age of 19, when I became the chairwoman of the youth committee. The municipal political assignments became many over the years. I was elected to the municipal council of Korsnäs for 20 years, 12 of which I was the chairwoman of the council. My interest in society led to active involvement at the regional level within the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia, where I served many years in the regional council and in the regional board. I represented Ostrobothnia in the Association of European Border Regions, in AEBR, where I served as president for one year and as I vice president for a long time. My enthusiasm has also led to several international projects. Rural development and rural policy have particularly interested me.

The Kvarken Archipelago was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006. I was honored to be involved in the application process that lasted for years. In 2012, the World Heritage Delegation appointed me as the World Heritage Ambassador of the Kvarken Archipelago, which I am very proud of. I have worked as a trained guide for a long time. When Finland joined the EU in 1995, I entered the world of EU projects. I have worked in local, regional, national, and international projects.

I am interested in making the future. I especially like conducting future workshops for organizations, municipalities, and companies, as well as working in innovative development projects. I am also available as a moderator or facilitator for discussions, seminars, or other similar events. Leadership and development issues from a gender perspective and storytelling as a marketing tool are my latest interests. I have started doctoral studies in marketing at the University of Vaasa, where the focus is on the importance of local stories in place-based development related to natural and cultural heritage.
